I just finished my first week in a program called "Explore." Groups of students all over Canada pick a city of their choice, and if the stars align, they buy their ticket to that city and tax money pays for the course, food and accommodation for a whole five weeks. The only catch is, they have to speak french or they get sent home after a few warnings. Students also get credits for their degree during this program, and although I already graduated, I definitely do not want to be sent home.
One week, and four more to go. I got placed in French Intermediate 1, and also got voted as class representative. My French is definitely better than where I left it a few months ago. I can conjugate verbs and form perfect sentences but as always, my vocabulary is the problem. Add my Filipino/Spanish accent and my pronunciation definitely sounds foreign.
The culture is very easy to get accustomed to. Yet again, I am placed with almost a hundred other explore students with the same mindset of just wanting to learn another language and meeting new people. Definitely fun.
If this is grad life, I definitely should have graduated earlier. :)
